EDITORIAL
Quarantine-free travel between Australia and New Zealand is providing an insight into how air travel will evolve during the next five years. Analysts at one firm say this is how long it may take to fully recover to 2019 levels and, given the previous rate of growth has been lost, it may never recover the flight path it would have been on if Covid-19 didn t happen.
Come the 2026 financial year, international travel to and from New Zealand may be 22 per cent lower than the historic growth trend, according to Forsyth Barr.

Weird weddings I was an event manager at a mansion that did a lot of weddings … My favourite is probably the one where the entire wedding party started drinking at noon for a 6pm wedding. The groom passed out around 5 and we couldn t get him up. So I made him a ham sandwich and propped him up in his bed while I hand fed him. Managed to get him and his boys down to the courtyard and then had to run back in and herd the women down. The bride spilled her mimosa all over her dress, two of the bridesmaids couldn t find their shoes, but everyone was super happy and nice. There were about 150 people at the reception and every single one of them got absolutely hammered. The mother of the bride kept sneaking up on me and hugging me, and the groom made me pose for some photos with them. They also gave me all the leftover wedding cake and a few bottles of wine. I miss them.

Bennifer s back. After a 17-year break, a couple of marriages and children, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck seem to be doing the merengue again.
The evidence looks compelling: a few long-lens snaps of the pair boarding a private jet and sitting in an SUV, having apparently spent a few days at Ben s chalet in Montana.
Asia stocks snap back into the red on Korea tensions

TOKYO: Asian stocks turned lower on Thursday as investors fretted about the simmering tensions between the United States and North Korea, sending Seoul shares skidding to two-month lows even as the previous day’s rush into safe-haven assets appeared to slow.
Spreadbetters expected European stocks to follow suit, forecasting Britain’s FTSE to open down 0.6 per cent and Germany’s DAX and France’s CAC to start a shade lower.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan slipped 1 per cent, snapping a brief foray into positive territory early in the day and extended losses from Wednesday.
